Lithuania’s city cowboy – a singer-songwriter whose low, hypnotic voice brings Americana, cinematic country rock and folk into stories about freedom, identity and the open road.
Music has been his home since childhood. He began playing saxophone at music school as a child and continued studying privately. Over time, the instrument led him toward something else – the desire to perform live music with his own voice. He began writing songs at fourteen, and after living in four countries learned to see melody as the one language that needs no translation. Raised in Lithuania and shaped by years abroad in Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, Matt found his artistic voice where American roots music meets Lithuanian restraint.
Before launching his solo career, he performed with bands including Cadion and Mechanical Sun, developing the guitar-driven sound that defines his work today. He writes, sings and plays guitar and saxophone. His debut single, Northern Wind, arrived in 2020, followed by Midnight Train, Blood & Bones, Not Alone and ADHD. The songs move through different territory – exile, war, resilience, self-belief and inner conflict – but remain connected by honest storytelling.
His Western identity is not a stage costume. The hat, boots, motorcycles, old films and country culture are part of his everyday world. Inspired by Jökull Júlíusson of Kaleo, Colter Wall, classic rock and dark blues, Matt follows instinct rather than trends. His appearances in Lithuania’s Eurovision national selection with Midnight Train and Not Alone brought him to a wider audience and helped shape him as a live performer. After Eurovision, he took that sound to Visagino Country Festival, performing there in both 2025 and 2026.
Matt Len is now working on his debut album while continuing to write, record and perform live.
The road is still open. The direction is clear.
